As someone who fancies himself something a scribe, I adore the written word. So I’m always on the lookout for new words to add to my arsenal. But much as I’ve come to suspect that the numerous characters I’ve dreamed up have minds – and wills! – of their own, so too have I found that when it comes time to put pen to paper, the new utterances and idioms that I thought were locked away in the strongbox of my mind made a great escape when I least expected it (perhaps during one of my revery-walks).
That’s why I started writing up small “vocab quizzes” to test myself with! I’ll be posting these each week, so you can follow along with me, or simply cheer me on as I go.
